Poetry is one of the best ways to expand language awareness and proficiency. The poet Tim Seibles describes poetry as, “this magical castle of words we live in.” Using inspiring poems and literary games, we’ll learn how a poet makes us feel things and then play with words to make our own surprising word castles. INSTRUCTOR Award-winning poet Marcia LeBeau leads this class. Author of full-length poetry collection titled "A Curious Hunger" and founder of The Write Space, Marcia brings her expertise as a published poet, MFA graduate, and seasoned teacher to the classroom. With work featured in "O, The Oprah Magazine", "Rattle," and more, she’s passionate about helping kids discover the magic of words and their own unique voices.
